Confluencia “i Musici” Piazzolla Romero Passarella

I MUSICI “Confluencia”, a new release by fonè

I Musici – Italy’s most famous chamber music orchestra – is especially renowned worldwide for Baroque music renditions. This time, they measured themselves in a very special repertoire connected with the Latin American culture, performing pieces by Astor Piazzolla, Aldemaro Romero and Héctor Ulises Passarella.

Héctor Ulises Passarella himself, considered as one of the most talented bandoneonists in the world, features as the extraordinary special guest of this project. He contributed to the record by composing three movements in which he gave a very peculiar slant and a special value to the taste for interpretation: this great Argentinian artist, composer and musician, has a deep feeling for the tensions of his own people and land. Indeed, he was able to bless I Musici with a great performance under an interpretative perspective, regardless of the Baroque background for which they are traditionally famous.

As usual, the sound quality offered by fonè is capable of enhancing such musical textures, colours and chiaroscuros: what we are talking about is almost some kind of “epidermic” music, whose recordings were able to unleash a variegated palette of emotions. As per all the releases by fonè, the beauty of sound is deeply connected with the performance given by the protagonists of this project, as they were able to establish an actual “confluence” between two worlds that appeared to be poles apart.
